Over the last two decades of operation, we have successfully conducted more than 800 STS operations with the highest levels of safety and have successfully transferred more than 700 million bbls of oil cargo.
Currently, we are the only STS service provider in Hongkong region and we also provide STS services off Singapore (Karimun and Nipah, Indonesia).
Our company ensures that the equipment used is of world-class quality and matches up to international quality standards.
The fenders and hoses currently in use are manufactured by Yokohama Rubber Co., one of the leading market players in this industry.
Additionally, to ensure compliance with safety standards, regular maintenance checks are carried out by our highly trained staff.
Prior to every operation, the respective Coastal Authorities are duly notified and apprised of our activities.
While conducting STS operations, we ensure that our office is manned round-the-clock.
Our operations team is highly experienced and has received extensive practical training in conducting STS operations.
We also maintain a Joint Plan of Operations (JPO) via which Owners, Operators and Masters are provided with detailed information pertaining to upcoming STS operations.
In the Off Hong Kong area, the two support craft we have in place have been operational since 1998 while in the off Singapore area the tugs that are operated are very familiar with our STS operations.
Our Chief STS Superintendent is one of the most experienced and has been working with us since 1996
During his time with us, he has supervised and conducted over 700 STS operations, both at Anchor as well as Underway.
Our team of STS Superintendents comprises all Master Mariners who have the requisite Oil Tanker experience, and are duly qualified in accordance with the latest MARPOL Regulations.
They have also undergone the required STS Simulator training in addition to extensive hands-on training.
Our Team

The late Mr. Peter Soon was the founder of B & Jo Group of companies. He established the company as a ship chartering company in 1988 in order to cater to the China State Oil Companies. He was a visionary who recognized the necessity of STS operations in South China. At that time there were only few ports which could accommodate VLCC's, so he set up the Asia Pacific Shipping Services as a secondary service to the existing chartering business in 1990 and the company conducted their first STS operation in late 1990. Under his leadership, company conducted more and more STS operations in order to meet the growing energy demand in China. He passed away in 2005.
In 2005 Mr. David Soon took over as MD, he reorganized the company in order to cater to International oil trading companies and work towards the ICS/OCIMF standards. The company was now called Asia Pacific STS Lightering Co. Pte Ltd. The company as a leading STS service provider conducts all its STS operations strictly in accordance with the latest edition of Ship to Ship Transfer Guide for Petroleum, Chemicals and Liquefied Gases - First Edition - 2013. -
Paul Soon joined the shipping industry in 1981 as an operations executive for an offshore company providing services at OPL Singapore. He joined B & Jo Enterprise Pte Ltd in 1987 and was involved in vetting of Chinese vessels as owners representative. In 1990, he established the STS department for the company for handling STS operations at OPL Singapore. In 1994, he established the Hong Kong STS base for the company. Over the years, he gained vast experience in conducting the STS operations and since 2005, he has been working as STS coordinator for the STS operations at OPL Hong Kong and OPL Singapore. He has been actively involved in bringing up the operation standards of the company by developing company QMS so as to be in line with the ever changing industry requirements. His aim is to see the company recognized by the oil majors as the leading STS service provider in the region.

Our Senior POAC, Capt. Sanjay Singh joined the team in 2017. He started as a Deck cadet in 1989 and worked as a deck officer on various tankers ranging from MR to VLCC. He served as Master on VLCC for over eight years before joining us as a mooring master. He is now a qualified POAC and has experience in handling almost all sizes of oil tankers. He is heighly commited to his work and to the safe and efficient completion of all his operations.

Capt Amar Kant Singh started his sea career as a Deck Cadet in 1996. He got command in 2010. He has extensive experience on various types of oil and chemical tankers. He shifted to shore in 2013 and later joined DG shipping approved esteemed Maritime training institutes as a Deputy director and served for almost 8 years . He is a qualified POAC/ Mooring Master and serving with us since 2019.

Capt. Ashutosh Kandwal also started his sea life as a deck cadet with V Ships. He has extensive experience on Oil tankers, he joined us in 2013 as a trainee mooring master is now a well experienced Mooring Master. He has shown remarkable commitment for safety and exceptional professionalism in all his operations.
